Lorna Dane, also known as Polaris, is a Marvel Comics character who first appeared in *X-Men* #49 in 1968.
She is a mutant with the power to control magnetism, similar to her biological father, Magneto. Although Magneto's parentage was initially unconfirmed in the comics, it was later established.
Polaris has been a member of several X-Men teams, including X-Factor and the All-New X-Factor. She has dealt with mental instability throughout her history, leading to periods where her powers are erratic.
